Mel and Carine Elliott are a husband-and-wife team running their family business from their art gallery in Villiersdorp in the Overberg (Western Cape). The family business is a thirty-six-year-old establishment that started back in Knysna, with Dale and Janny Elliott. In Villiersdorp, the Elliott’s have an extensive art complex with a gallery where they exhibit their family art, studios for their painting courses which they run throughout the year, as well as a framing facility.

Mel is a third-generation Elliott artist and his passion is landscapes and wildlife. He tackles most subject matter and he also undertakes many commissions (paintings on special demand) for his clients. Carine runs the gallery side of things and heads up their merchandise sales of Mel and his father’s artwork as well. Mel learnt his trade from his late father Dale Elliott and his grandfather Leslie Elliott was also an artist. Mel has a BCom Marketing degree and he exhibits his work in various outlets throughout South Africa. He has painted and reached the benchmark of several thousand paintings to date.
